I was going through my safe today looking to see what I might sell to fund some new projects. I’m almost embarrassed to admit this, but I found knives that I forgot I owned or can’t remember anything about! I guess my wife is right, I do have too many knives. One of them was a Buffalo Soldier with a green coated blade and the Busse logo/name on the blade. Does anyone remember when these were made and how many there were. Thanks in advance for any info.

looks like a mini Tank Buster :D

could not be farther from the truth. you could flex the blade with your bare hands, it's full heigth grind (or nearly so) made for a very small feeling knife. it's like if you threw a full sized choil on an aba and made it full heigth grind, cutting off some of the belly. sounds cool, but it makes it tiny by comparison.

they both are in the groove master lineage

the buffalo soldier was basically a groove master with it's second spine groove extended and it's grind raised up. this gives an idea of how small the knife is (in this case the groove master):

I love my groove master. I don't think I've ever held a buffalo soldier. I saw a banned buffalo soldier go through the sales forum some time in the last couple years, I've been kicking myself ever since for not going after it. The ergonomics of the groove master are amazing. I believe these were intended as dedicated game knives, but can't speak to how effective they are. Seems like they'd be great, though.
