looking for experience and or opinions of the above mentioned katana. price-$645. good deal or not?
better selection in this price range?

just got interested in katanas& know nothing.

thanx guys

I think I go to their web page and look at the entry level swords. Lot less money and as beginner will likely serve you as well. You will over course of time buy more than one.

I am not a expert my self But I find for the light cutting I do mine work fine.

actually,i am more interested in the katana as an art form-but I do want it to be more than just functional.
the katana mentioned is in the price range I am willing to roll with, but I am open to suggestion as to other katanas.

I like the CAS Shinto, which is in the same price range.

With that iteration, you get a steel tsuba, which I vastly prefer...bo hi which give feedback with sword swings(tachi kaze) and a true hamon, which is something to be appreciated....even if on this model, a bit boring.

The Bugei Bamboo 5160 Trainer will UNDOUBTEDLY be stronger and less likely to bend in the event of sloppy cutting/improper angle/poor choice of cutting target...but you give up too much of what makes a nice Chitana special...and closer to the "real" article.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson
