I've had a little piece of buggy spring about 3" long sitting on the lid of a trash can in my shop for about a year and finally decided to see if I could turn it into a blade. With something that small first thing I did was hammer the width back into itself and turned it from 1 1/4" X 3" X 1/4" to 1" X 5" X 1/4" and then I forged it into a blade. I now have a finished knife. The blade is 5" and overall its 9 1/2". The piece of sambar stag was alittle shorter than what I wanted for this handle so I added a rosewood spacer. Iron was again used for the fittings.

That's ANOTHER beauty Ray!

I really like the rosewood spacer, and the buttcap --- very nicely done (but we've come to expect that from you)

That is one beautiful looking piece of buggy spring, very fine job.

Ray, Your work is very impressive. The components of that knife work very well together. Hard to beat honest work.

Ray, I gotta say that I think your knives have improved greatly over the last couple of years.

Keith, I think what your seeing is more of a refined look to most my work now. Just a few months ago I was thinking about re inventing myself but after a lot of thought I still like the box I've been working out of. I'm just making it a larger box. How long ago was it since you were trying to get the Canadian Knife Forum going, 2002? That was about the time I first started developing the style that I'm working off of today. I hope I've changed for the better. :D
