Is the Bugout really easy to open/close with one hand? I don't have any experience with the axis style lock. Is the axis easier or harder to operate with one hand compared to a frame or liner lock? Does the blade lock open pretty easy without flicking the wrist?
I'm leaning heavy towards the Bugout, but still open to other suggestions if anyone would like to make them. Hopefully getting a new RN job soon and will EDC this at work. Weight, size, and ease of operation with one hand are the biggest considerations. I also like that the Bugout is made in the US and comes in blue (looks more hospital friendly with scrubs and all).
I have considered the Delica but not sure of the ease of one-handed operation.

Thank you in advance for any input?

Yes x3 - if you can carry in knife as an RN, this would be a great choice. I have been in the medical field for seven years and if I was still bed side, this would be my top choice. Delica can also be opened/closed one handed but not as easily as the Bugout and the Bugout is more neutral in the hand.

Your 3 criteria are perfectly matched with this knife!

The Bugout would be be perfect. Extremely easy to open and shut one handed with the axis lock. And if you're wearing scrubs, it's crazy lightweight.

The Delica is great knife but not nearly as easy to close one handed. It's takes a little concentration.

You won't be disappointed with the Bugout. I don't own a whole lot of knives, but the Bugout is the easiest one handed opener and closer by far.

When I want a smaller edc carry I choose my bugout over knives that cost 10 times as much. It's a perfect small and lightweight knife.

The Bugout is incredibly easy to open and close one-handed. As previously mentioned, the Bugout is great to wear with scrubs because it's so lightweight. I carry mine every day in the hospital, and no one has cared about it. I think the blue scales help with that probably. Although I just bought the ranger green version last week, so we'll see if that one changes people's reactions vs when I use my blue one.

The Bugout sounds perfect for your uses as already mentioned, and I can't imagine you would be disappointed with the AXIS lock. The Delica and many knives with other locks are easy to open one handed, but where the AXIS really shines IMO is the ease of one-handed drop closing.

Opens effortlessly and drops closed just as easily.

I wear athletic shorts and t-shirt daily, and the Bugout carries like it isn't there. It'll carry just as effortlessly in scrubs.

There's a mini-bugout as well if you need a smaller one, but I don't know if it comes in blue.

You are right about the color. The blue is pretty much a friendly look.

Appreciate the advice. Just ordered one. I've read where some on here are tired of the stonewash trend, but I would like to see it offered on the Bugout. Anyways, it looks like a beautiful knife as is and I can't wait to get it in hand.
