I think toads (buffo?) have bumps (glands) on their heads and frogs (hyla?)do not. It's been a long time since vert. bio.
 
Looks like a common Tree Frog to me. The ones we have here are of the same/similar mucky-spotted color and very hard too see if they're on a tree or our local limestone rock, easy to see on bare ground.
 
Bees don't sting unless you trap them. I've had a swarm of them around me, and as long as I was sitting still, they weren't even interested in me.

Really, really fine pictures. The frog should hire you to do his portfolio. (ribbit!)
 
however, these are hornets, and will warning sting, esp about the head/face, and can sting all day if they want. they will also "just go for you" for random reasons. like wearing black (which i was), and getting too close (which is was).

and yup, a couple did make passes, one actually hit me, but failed to get me through my shirt. hiding behind a big camera perhaps confuses them as to "doesn't have a head, not something to sting"

it's a nice smug frog too :)
