The Cutting Edge catalog November 2001, page 34, item 73934. Described as: "RANDALL 3" drop point blade, black micarta scales, special one of a kind, stainless blade, nickel silver hilt, no sheath... $395". This knife is also described at
http://www.cuttingedge.com/text/r.html .

This knife appears to be a doctored-up Triathlete from the non-catalog knives section of the RMK catalog. Someone (not RMK) added the scales and the hilt. Since A.G. Russell is an authorized Randall dealer, I suggest that they publish a notification in the knife's catalog description that there are non-RMK modifications to the knife.

A similar knife was discussed in Knifeforums RKS forum in September, 2000.

I have not seen the knife, but I would like to say this. If this is a bad knife, A.G., Paul and the Russell staff did not know. When you send a catalog to the world you do not do bad things, intentionally. You have too much to lose. In the 1991 Randall Collection catalog that I sold there were about 13 bad knives or altered knives. I did not know. The people involved were told and money refunded. Embarassing, but life and business must go on. Regards, Rhett Stidham
