Hi,

I have a Leatherman Charge Ti. I like the pliers and blades - but cannot stand the muilt-bit driver.

Has anyone ever built their own Leatherman by mixing the parts from two tools together?

Ideally I'd like to take the screw drivers from a Leatherman Core or Blast and insert them into my LM Charge TI.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I took the phillips from a Kick and put it in a new style Wave. It was a perfect fit. I also swapped the long flat head screwdriver from that same Kick for the eyeglass minibit driver but I had to take the dremel tool and shave a little off of the thumb tab of the scissors to make it work without bumping into it. Oh and by the way the inside tools of the charge should be the same as the wave. Hope this is of some help. Someone else on the forums did the same as I did with a Charge so it should work.

Yes. The larger bit driver is the same width as the phillips from the contour handled models. I simply chose the Kick because it was the cheapest model to get and even though the tools on this model do not lock, they have the same notches in them as the others that do lock so you do not lose the locking ability of the inside tools. The smaller eyeglass bit holder is also directly replaced by the long smaller flathead on the kick but like I said the thumb tab must be cut in order for it to pivot out of the tool handle correctly.

Someone here on the forums did the same thing with a charge xti. No scissors to worry about.
