Building a custom flashlight?

I've recently been turned onto that incredible 'blue-white' light of LED flashlights. This weekend, I went looking for info and some replacement bulbs.

I found a site with 'too much' info; these guys were discussing multi-bulbs and 'push power' like I used to discuss zooping up engines.

I've done just about everything else, custom bikes, fast Mustangs, custom combat guns, more knives then I can use, so why not get into zooping up flashlights.

Is there a club? Is there a forum? Where can you get custom parts, if such a supply house exists?

Sure, I'd love a E2E with the LED package, but wouldn't it be more fun to pull a neon and chrome blaster out of your jeans, singe a few retinas and then sigh, "Built it myself."

candlepowerforums.com is where you need to go. I have had one of the guys there (s/n dspeck) make me a couple of custom Surefire barrel for nifty new toys.

As far as I know I have the only 4AA powered Surefire E2, and also an E1 that has an Infinity Ultra in the other end of the barrel. :D

So your a hotrodder too... can it be made to go faster? Run harder... play longer, we're in!

I've thought about soldering up an LED rig for a 3 d maglite for under cars, just think it would rock the world.

Hotrod,

I wonder about the 'limits' of all of my toys. My Harleys got cams, alloy pushrods and S&S carburetors (no fuel injectors in those days.)

Two of my friends and I used to compete to see who had the sharper MT USSOCOM. We kind of stopped that when a deacon's palm got sliced open, and I still don't know how he did that!

I just got a Marlin 45-70; just how fast can you push heavy linotype slug? Well, we'll see, won't we?

I need a new hobby. Why not flashlights?
