Review Building a Knife

Are the Knifekits models made on China?
Modoc ED Modoc ED is right...non bfdealer link...I would have thought bf the perfect place to for them...but generally speaking;)
there are some knife kits that are pricey and some that much lower in price...which afaic means only one thing...o_O:thumbsup:....Im surprised Ive never heard of that mob.

I wish the OP would have returned with pics. It's well documented that Imgur makes it almost dummy proof for non-paying members to post unlimited pics. I've seen a few RR kit builds by members in the past. But would really like to see pics and hear build stories by a wide range of skill levels.

I guess what I'm saying is, my personal skill level is somewhere in the double to tripple digit NEGATIVE range....not to brag or anything. :p So upon receiving my RR kits, in their very rough state, with absolutely no documentation or instructions.....let's just say I was (am still) very intimidated. Especially having never built, or even disassembled, a traditional knife. Sure, I've fashioned and shapped a few on-lay type scales, screwed into place. But these kits require just a "bit" more skill level. I applaud all who even try. Therefore I [strike]applaud [/strike]myself, wait, scratch that.... I'm appalled at myself for not even trying yet. :(;)

I haven't seen what these kits look like, I will probably do a little research and might buy one or two for a little practice.

Here is a few I built, the Buck110-a-like & a couple of the multi blade kits built up as single blades.

I used some Briar wood instead of the supplied scales & had to use brass rod for a couple of the pivots after trying chasing perfection too much on the opening & closing & needing oversize pins.

Highly recommended, you'll learn more tackling one of these kits than all the reading you could ever do.
