This video does a pretty good job moving through the steps of assembly for the KA-BAR Fighting/Utility knife with leather and Kraton handles.

Hmmm, looks a bit like a school project.
Having just refurbished mine, the tang is wrong (way too weedy), the cross guard is wrong and the new knives have a higher sabre grind.
Would be good to see a proper video of the process, a bit like a 'how it's made' .
Nice idea though.

I hope that video didn't cost very much to produce. Sorry to be a negative nanny, but frankly it's pretty bad advertising. If I thought the tang was really that flimsy, I'd never even consider buying one.

What are you guys talking about? This was thrilling viewing! My wife cried during that part where the protagonist divulged his deepest fears, and our hearts were warmed in the end scene. We will definitely watch this again..

:D snark :D

I love you KA-BAR..

I guess for me the description didn't really match the content. Not really any steps or anything. Seemed more like an internet ad or just a commercial type vid. Maybe something that would be placed at the end of a segment on an actual video of any given Ka-Bar. Not a bad little spot but I was expecting much more. Maybe the actual content is missing and we just got the spot ad?

 This. I would like to see a few things in video about the assembly process.
I would like to see the guard being put onto the knife by actual workers in the factory.
I would like to see actual footage of the leather washers being compressed.
Lastly, I would like to see the pommel being put on, and the tang pin being inserted, and finally ground flush with the pommel.
Actual footage beats animation any day. I think that footage that isn't quite to specs/scale is bad advertising and bad for business. I think all Kabar would ever need to sell their knives is a brief video of the actual manufacturing, backed up with some history of the brand. Kabar has a great reputation that not everyone knows about. I think some history would really go a long way in an advertisement. Perhaps a Damascus blade with a Kraton handle would be a great addition as well; With a slightly wider tang. Bringing back the M2 Scabbard would be wonderful. I know they where contract made by a separate company entirely, that was contracted by the government at the time. Kabar would make a fortune if they started making and selling reproductions of the M2 Scabbard C. WW2. **

If there is one video i would like see done,
It would have to be one with ww2 pacific usmc vets in it.
(ok, maybe stand in actors if that's no longer possible)
The narrated knife related experiences of these warriors
is after all, the core story of the legendary f/u knife.
That would be the only logical way to keep the legend alive.

That would be amazing.

I agree this video was a lackluster experience. That being said, I think KA-BAR should contact "How it's Made."
