Buildout?

Hello,

I am about to receive a custom shop Buck Tempest with a mirror polished 154cm blade. The person I bought it from said that it was a "buildout". Could someone define buildout for me?

A buildout knife is when Buck uses extra materials on hand to make completed knives, that technically werent offered as a catalog item.

They offered the Tempest with the 154cm blade, in the catalogs, but not mirror polished. Yours will probably have a custom stamp on the blade also.
