When you're anxiously awaiting the arrival of your first JK, it pays for your mother in law to be your mail carrier. I had her on the lookout for my package and got the message this morning. I met her before she started her route and got the only mail I wanted.

The bluegill is what attracted me to John's work. I'm going to add a bluegill to match later this summer, but I really wanted/needed more of a B&T knife. John and I talked. I tried to design my own but didn't like what I was coming up with. So John and I talked some more and I talked about how I thought the bluegill was perfect, just smaller than what I wanted at the time. He said no problem.
First impressions are I love it. The Osage looks great and the shape and grind are perfect. More pictures to come this weekend!

The Stretched Bluegill looks great! What a fantastic acquisition. I look forward to more pictures and hearing your thoughts on it.

Your handle configuration is very similar to the Bluegill John is crafting for me right now. I'm so excited!

Glad you are pleased with it, I kind of like the looks of the stretched model.

What are the specs on that stretched bluegill? I'm really liking the looks of it.

A recipe courtesy of my new knife.

Start with all of this.

Slice 3 avocados and scoop them out.

Add the juice from one half lime
Add 1/2 teaspoon each of salt, cayenne, and cumin. Mash the ingredients together.

Add one half of an onion chopped.

Add two small, diced tomatoes. I prefer Roma because they stay firm and aren't as juicy. Add about a tablespoon of cilantro chopped, mix, and let chill for an hour or more. If you can. Best way to break in a new knife.

Nice!

JKs are about as easy to put down as that GEC up there.

Youll always find a reason to want another one.

Sweet! Thanks for the pictures.

A raised garden would be a good way to go for sure......

Great looking knife too!

I lost one fish so I made sure it didn't go to waste. It was hooked in the gills, but no blood and it was a quick release. Just started floating with his head up and tail almost straight down. Anyway, the SBG worked great.
