Hey ya'll. Been a little since I've posted. I've recently been stationed down in south Texas and have been enjoying the fishing down here but last Saturday was what I've been waiting for. Finally caught some huge reds, two in about an hour. I haven't been able to use my Busses for much since I've gotten here.. No Georgia woods to camp in or anything like that. So when I brought home these beautiful fish I pulled some knives out to take photos with the fish, not really thinking they would come in handy. Little did I know I'd be chopping at the spine with my Boss Jack to remove the head and using my NMFBM to baton off the tail to let them bleed out. They did great. The Boss Jack saw a lot of action. From removing the head to helping cut/pry some of the larger rib bones out of the way. The edges held up great, obviously. I have a thinner double bevel V edge on my Boss Jack and it is as sharp as it was before the cleaning. That night we had about 15 people over for grilled fish and lots of beer. First fish was 41 inches and second was 37. Both were caught using live finger mullet. Enjoy!

Awesome, bet it was delicious. I had fish tacos for dinner tonight. Wish it would have been self caught fish.

Great pics !! Nice catch on those fish, the INFI is nice too :)

Nice catch! Never heard of bleeding fish by chopping the tail, but looks like it works well! Have to try that next time I go to Rockport.

Thanks ya'll. They were very good eating! El Bandito. I had not either but was advised to do so by a local guy that sounded like he knew what he was talking about. He said cut a small slit in it and string it up in the water then when you get home cut it off and hang them up for a little to let it bleed out.. It worked very well. They were caught right near Rockport in the jettie just a little south of the port A jetties.

That's one of my normal areas to hit when I'm down there, they get reeeely big this time of year. I have never managed to make it down for the Running of the Bulls through the Intracoastal Waterway, but it's on my bucket list!

Nice fish. I like the orange g-10. Good for a sportsman. Last week I dropped my moss green scrapivorie in the river in about 3 1/2' of water and it took about 45 minutes to find it in all the cobble stone.
