I've seen a couple knives recently called Bulldog "Pit Bull"...and am curious about the "Pit Bull". Where does this model fit in with the Bulldog brand? Just a name like "cuttin horse" to indicate a style or is it a cheaper model of Bulldog or.... Much TIA

Pit Bull is a trademark name used by Bulldog Knives. It doesn't really indicate anything, its just that there is a particular line of knives that have a pitbull trademark etch on the blade, just like the Cuttin Horse or Tennesee Walking Horse. Bulldog Knives has used many different blade etchings over the years, Pit Bull being just one of them.

Did someone mention this knife business is going to the dogs...

Howdy Sunburst, I for one sure like that 4 inch Sunfish, darn good stag on a production knife, only 60 of those were made with stag by the way, so you won't see that one to often. That pattern was a short run, only made once, a mistake in my opinion. Might be hard to tell from the picture, but one end is larger than the other, pretty unique. They made that in 1994, a third generation Bulldog. BKC 1004 is the number and that is the ONLY knife in that series with the pitbull etch. If I'm not mistaken that series is the only 4 inch sunfish Bulldog made. Keep it, or give it to me :D that's a pretty rare dog.

Sigh! Hard to start a collection if you have the only one (of that one)! Just beautiful! Thanks for posting pics!!

Grin :) Thanks Hukk,Nukemkb :) I appreciate your nice comments in more ways than you know...I have really admired Bulldog and that knife in particular. I got some great advice from a good friend when purchasing that beauty...

Would you have a few Bulldogs to share with us??

Thanks again gents for the compliments..
