All,

Emerson-land is foreign territory to me, but I've always loved the look and functionality, particularly with the Wave. I had a custom 6 back in the 90's and sold it like a dummy.

I'm a small knife guy, and have typically always toted sub-3"-bladed folders. I currently carry a Benchmade Mini-HK Axis folder, but am looking hard at the Emerson Bulldog. I think there's a lot to like with this relatively small folder from EKI.

Questions for you guys in the know:

With the pillar backspacers/standoffs, are they nestled into the liners like the stop pin or simply literal spacers?

Does the Bulldog, given its smaller size, have the twin liner detents?

Are both liners Ti or is the non-locking side a stainless liner?

Does the lock/blade tang geometry promote a long, healthy lock life?

Is there any up and down play/lock rock with these knives?

Thank you in advance for any responses to my geeky questions. I can see a custom pocket clip and thumbwheel entering the picture for this knife if I end up pulling the trigger. :)

Does the Bulldog, given its smaller size, have the twin liner detents? Don't know

Are both liners Ti or is the non-locking side a stainless liner? Locking side is Ti

Does the lock/blade tang geometry promote a long, healthy lock life? Yes

Is there any up and down play/lock rock with these knives? No

I don't know all the answers since I sold my Bulldog. Buy Emerson knowing you will get a great knife and spectacular customer service if you ever need it.

Thanks, M, I'll do just that. It's time to add some Emerson goodness to my diet. Best to you.

With the pillar backspacers/standoffs, are they nestled into the liners like the stop pin or simply literal spacers? Literally spacers

Does the Bulldog, given its smaller size, have the twin liner detents? Not sure

Are both liners Ti or is the non-locking side a stainless liner? New non-locking side is Stainless

Does the lock/blade tang geometry promote a long, healthy lock life? My CQC-7 after breaking in hasn't moved at all. ( I like to open and close knives while I watch movies etc. so I may open and close one anywhere from 100-500 times a day)

Is there any up and down play/lock rock with these knives? Depends, but I haven't seen any in the 5-15 I've handled/owned

Thank you in advance for any responses to my geeky questions. I can see a custom pocket clip and thumbwheel entering the picture for this knife if I end up pulling the trigger. :) (bulletbeadz custom .45 disk)

Heres a link showcasing his work:

With the pillar backspacers/standoffs, are they nestled into the liners like the stop pin or simply literal spacers?

They are spacers sitting on between the liners, not through them

Does the Bulldog, given its smaller size, have the twin liner detents?

Yes.

Are both liners Ti or is the non-locking side a stainless liner?

Non-locking side is steel.

Does the lock/blade tang geometry promote a long, healthy lock life?

For the most part yes, I mean, mine hasn't had any problems since I got it.

Is there any up and down play/lock rock with these knives?

I don't have any in mine, but this sounds more on the individual knife. If that were the case, you can send your Emerson in and get the liner replaced.

I don't have a Bulldog, but speaking for Emerson liner locks in general, I can say that none of mine have ever moved from the place where they settled in after a little break-in period. All of them are still early (less than 50%), including my oldest Emerson, a 2006 Commander.

Great little knife, but it really doesn't "feel" little. Hopefully that doesn't bother you since smaller is your preference.
