This is the mould I made for the axe/gun. It shoots oblong bullets of my own design. I bet they make a bigger hole when they hit. Its a smooth bore so I think they may tumble and make that cool sound too.

Just thought you may need a short break from knives.

Nice work, I can't begin to imagine how dificult it was to build.

The oblong bullets out of a smooth bore will definatly make a big hole, but accuracy will most likely suffer greatly. Have you test fired it yet?

Thanks Guys!
Will: I havent fired it yet and am not sure I will. I know it will shoot without a hitch. My collector will never fire it either. It couldnt be too accurate anyway without sights.

I like the sprue cutter. would you consider makeing sprue cutters for a couple of buffalo rifle moulds i have?

Shakudo, I want to check out those hunting links. I didnt know people actually hunted with a matchlock! I wonder what the deer think of that saltpeter burning smell?

Eric, Im pretty proud of that sprue cutter. I tried to do stock removal to make it and finally just forged the dang thing to shape. It will get a color case hardening treatment and will then hold an edge at the cutter. It sure works easy with that much leverage.

Could we see the mould in action. I have some friends who make their own fishing jigs and this looks interesting for a jig mold.
