Everyone needs a large, bullet-resistant shield, so I decided to make my own. 
There are not pictures of every step, because I was too damn busy making it.
But the pictures do tell a story...
This was the test plate I shot with a whole bunch of bullets:
The main steel stops single shots of 9mm full metal jacket, but a second shot in the exact same spot (shooting the dent) will penetrate.
But that's what the extra plates on the back are for.
The main plate can be shot with .38 slugs and 00 buckshot all day with no penetration though.
The polycarbonate stops a full-power .38 slug with double layers, I found out yesterday. :thumbup:
(a test piece...didn't shoot-up my shield).
The two Zero Tolerance knives in the one picture got a LOT of use in shaping the handles, and some other shield building tasks.
