This is one knife of a set that I am working on. It is cpm154cm heat treated by Peter's. It is 8.5" over all and the blade is 4" from tip to handle. The scales are blacker than sin g10 with stainless corbies and lanyard tube. The mosiac pin is a home made one I did this week. The blade has a scotchbrite finish. I did this since the guy will be using this knife for hunting season I feel it will be easier to clean up this way. Thanks for looking!!

Great design Frank, is that a full flat grind on the blade?

I like the way the G10 takes on an almost wood grain effect as well!

Yes the grind is full flat. This is the some nice handle material, I will use it again in the future. Thanks!

Nice solid desing Frank. G-10, especially black, can be very classy. You've shaped and finished it beautifully. Good work.

I've ordered a sheet of black g-10 to use on some of my hunters for the upcoming hunting season. Paired with brass bolts, I think it looks very nice.

It's a mighty fine knife that should do a fine job for its owner.

I don't understand why is the choil so large. Were you trying to extend the blade or is this supposed to be a place to hold on to while "choking" the knife for detail work? It looks out of place to me. Can you explain its purpose in the design please?

The choil is exactly for holding on for more presicion cutting. Putting you index finger on the spine and your middle finger on the choil is very comfortable and you have alot more control, at least thats how it feels to me. Holding it in the traditional grip you can take longer slices when skinning an animal and with the choking grip you could do more controlled cuts like when you are trying to remove the hide with out poking or slicing a hole in it. Hope that makes sense.
