well today was the day of the auction.the wife and i ..and little girl drove the 2 1/2 hours to the auction and to our suprise what was supposed to be a 130 lb anvil turned out to be a 171lb peter write in very nice shape...the steel ball bounced right back to the same height i dropped it from.unfortunatly there was a guy there that wanted it pretty bad too(sentimental value,it was his great uncle`s)anyway after it was all said and done he bought it for 440$, i just couldn`t afford any more.People were shocked that 2 people would pay so much for a peice of iron.as soon as the bidding was done i said to the wife lets go,but before we could drive away a guy came up to me and said how serious about buyin an anvil? well i said i drove 2.5 hours just to buy that anvil and to make a long story short i ended up buying a 102lb peter write off him for $150 canadian (obviously since i live in canada) but he said he`ll think about selling his 184 lb and if he wants to sell he said he`ll take the small one back plus a knife and a hundred bucks!!hopefully he will sell. so there you go thats the way the cookie crumbles.
