Hi

I'm new here. When you post "Bump" or make any post on your bread to sell a knife, does it bring you back to the top of the list? If not, how can you move your thread to the top.

Thanks

Darrell

You don't. The Sales forums are set up to sort threads in descending order by initial post date, not last post date. This was done in response to problems created by people bumping too much.

Correct, bumping has been disabled for a while now, because of constant abuse. You can relist your items for a second time after 14 days pass from the date of the original thread. Use a link to your sales ad in your sig line.

A link can added at any time or just after 2 weeks? And can there be more than 1 link? Thanks just want to be correct.

I know this bumping thing has been thoroughly abused and would like to propose some formula for getting sale threads bumped in a fair manner but don't want to beat a dead horse or a live moderator for that matter. I've seen quotes from even the knife maker's complaining that past page 1 the sale is doomed. A tribute to BF that a page 1 listing doesn't last more than 1 day. Quite a frustration. Adding a link or 3 to my sig line would mitigate the sting though.

Rayse, there is no fair manner to be had that would not require consistent review from the staff here. The system works as is and currently the only offenders are folks that choose to re-list their items daily. In which case we merge their items and issue a reminder to read the rules. You can add a link to your sigline at any time you want, keep the size reasonable meaning no giant billboards.

OK - thanks for the clarification. You can see I'm taking advantage of the rules :)

Was just wondering about this myself. I had assumed this was the case but, wasn't for sure. Now I know. Two weeks does sound like an awfully long time though.
