I am going to sell off a bunch of knives in a single thread, and I am wondering if a person is allowed to add a "bump" post when they add a new item for sale.

Section 3, Rule #16
REPOSTING / RELISTING: You must wait two (2) weeks (14 days) to relist items for sale after the first time they have been listed. Don't try to circumvent this, your sale will be deleted, and your account will be locked.

The rule doesn't specifically state whether or not adding a new item counts as a new listing. In the end it's not a huge deal since buyer activity should keep a thread fairly close to the top, but it would be nice to know if I can bump my own thread after adding new items.

Bumping has been disabled due to abuse. Some sellers would get their friends to say "nice knife!" and back to the top it would go, while the rest of the sellers would sink to the bottom. Threads are sorted by deault by the time they are posted. I'm sure a supermod will clarify more, for the sake of clarity. ;)

Adding a new item is not relisting. You can add new items by editing them in as much as you like. Starting a new thread with old items is relisting, and you have to wait 14 days from the time you first posted the oldest of the old items to do that.

There is no "bumping". Exchange threads remain in the chronological sequence they were originally posted, no matter how many posts were added.

Ahh, so it's pretty much expected that someone will re-list every two weeks then. Thanks for the info.

(The oldest post on the first page of the Canadian exchange forum is almost a month old anyway, I probably don't have too much to worry about.)
