I was finally able to capture the weird purple hue this takes on at different angles. Years ago when going through the local shop I saw the knife, not really thinking about it, and noticed that it was purple. (purple's my favorite color). I liked it, but I bought something else, I can't remember what, and went home. But the image sort of burnt into my mind and I research it over the next couple weeks and eventually ended up trading my 41MC for it. Financially, that was a stupid move as these years have gone by, but I ended up actually using my Bump a lot more. And it's the only knife I've ever bought three times for me (bought other knives a ton of times for gifts, like the Minigrip or Scallion, but they don't count).

Edited since apparently posting too many photos of different angles pissed everyone off.

No offense, but isn't that just the same picture eleven times? In the first three we're able to ascertain any information that the other eight might contain, if we didn't already grasp the magnitude of your post in the first photo.

I love some kershaws, especially the zero tolerance line, I think they represent some of the best value on the knife market, but man, some of them look like they were designed while under the influence. I just picture someone saying "You know how recurves are cool right and people buy them? Lets recurve the blade.... and you know what else? We'll recurve the handle too! I love blades with big bellies, I love flippers, but the recurves... I just can't get over. I guess it's just a personal preference.

I think it's just something you gotta use, kind of like a Spyderco. It took me quite some time to adjust to the bump's blade shape, but I think Ken Onion's handles are pretty much genius both stylistically and ergonomically.

I tend to like KO's less wild blade shapes more aesthetically, my favorites being probably the Tyrade or the 0300 line...but as for a user, I still love the bump's blade.

Yep. I sure do.

I wish I'd had the balls to buy one when they came out. Now I'd have to pony up, what, $500 or so?

While I definitely want one for the collection, I still think I like the ti bumps more...I just love having some color in my knives.

I don't mind the slight recurves that a lot of the ZT line up has, but a lot of the Onion designs quite literally make me feel sea sick when I look at them. That and I just really dislike recurves for my uses.

It was a lot harder to find that gray bump...
I bought my forum bump on ebay and at the time nobody was certain about the second run, so forum bumps from first run were selling at almost twice their original price. I paid way too much for this knife... it'll stay with me for a very long time.

I can't say for certain, but I almost bought a gray bump years back. Given the numbers they made, it's entirely possible that it's the same one.

Lol I thought the same thing.

Nice knives, though!

What is this forum bump? A Ken Onion custom? How is it different from his other custom bumps?

it's a mid-tech...some parts are made by KO himself, some are manufactured. But I think he did all the assembly and final finishing himself.

There have always been too few photos of these models together. Now they're preserved for some future bump buyer who wants to decide which color they want since they chance of seeing them together in person is essentially non-existent.

Can never post too many pics AM! I wasn't a Bump fan when the ti framelocks first came out, but the more I've seen of them and with pics of them posted showing great details, I wish I had gone ahead and gotten one. Those are all very, very nice looking knives!!:)

I think Kershawguy has some green ones left at a super low price...about $30 less than what they go for on eBay. I'd pick one up. It's only going to get more valuable, so it's a low risk proposition.

no prob. he's a good guy to work with too. I ordered a knife and the particular example I got wasn't quite up to my expectations. He even paid for my return shipping. No hassle.
