I just received a Bura GRS blem. I was delighted to find that it was a bit heavier than in the listing (10/19) at 1 lb. 8 oz. It has fantastic balance and feels "alive" in my hand. The blade had a little rust on the tip that took some time to remove. It was not especially sharp, but the blade pattern is beautiful. The overall length was 17".
The blade is 11" by 2 1/4" at the belly. The spine is a little more than 3/8" thick at the bolster, about 3/8" at the bend, and the blade spine tapers to about 1/4" thick near the point.
The only shortcoming, in addition to the rust at the tip, is a little wood filler in the handle of the karda. There is a very slight ding in the brass near the tip of the sheath, but these are minor flaws.
The blade is a bargain at the price, and I am pleased. I just need to get the time to sharpen it properly. I just put a coat of oil on the handle, and expect to apply a few more.
