Bura and Murali

I got some bad news from shop manager Rajesh. The Master Kami Bura's health is getting worse and I am afraid that the day may come he won't be able work for HI. However, he trained those two talented Kamis Young Sher and Lok and they will continue to do their best to make the Khukuris and Sword.

Second bad news is the Murali Kami have left the HI shop in Nepal and moved on to India country.

Many of you have special orders for knives pending and I am sad to tell you
that there will be some delay because we have less Kamis Vim, Dil, young Sher and Lok working in the shop right now.
I will do my best to get your orders completed and shipped to me.

Thank you all for your patience and support for HI and the Kamis. I will keep
all of you with orders pending updated on the progress of your knives.

Dear Yangdu didi,

Bura is really too sick, his memory power going to be lower day by day. His tong is not working finding very difficult to talk. Now he personally realized that my body is not able to work now.

Regarding Muali kamis he left the shop to go to India to work for clothing factory.

Thank you,

Rajesh

Losing all these people is really beginning to scare me: Sher, Kumar, Get, Murali.......the list just goes on. I understand about Bura; I've always felt that we were lucky to still have him with us. But I'm starting to worry for the future of HI.

That is sad to hear about Bura. I hope things get better for him.

Much smoke and prayers up for Bura's health and for the Kami's to carry on.

:(

I have three pieces by Bura: a Tarwar, a 20" Sirupati, and a 26" Chitlangi. I'll cherish them even more now.

It's a bummer if H.I. loses him, but I hope his health improves, even if he does finally need to retire.

Best wishes for Master Bura and his family. Master Bura made my first HI khukuri, a silver mounted and carved 15-inch AK, and to this day, I consider that my most valuable khukuri. It stands a cut above all the rest (and I do love them all) and rests on a wooden stand by itself. I remember opening that package from Auntie Yangdu on my first khukuri and felt like a kid receiving his very first Christmas present (never did receive many Christmas presents growing up).

I consider it an honor to own some fine pieces made by Master Bura and to all who are lucky enough to have some in your possession, please treasure them and pass them onto family.

Smoke and prayers.

smoke up for bura its a sad day when kami's leave to go else where
lets hope this dont mess things up for h.i.

Many Prayers for Bura, it is a honor to own one of his works of art.
Checked my inventory when I read your post... almost half of my collection is from Bura! His stuff just appeals to me for some reason. I have his Everest Katana & Wakizashi, Tarwar, Large Tibetan, Small Tibetan, Butterfly Sword, Udha Sword, Hanshee Kothimoda, Samsher, 20" AK, CAK, 20" Chitlangi and Bamboo Cutter. His work is the centerpiece of my collection.... I shall continue to cherish it all.

It is a terrible shame to hear these sad news... My thoughts go out to Bura and I hope and pray that he keeps enough of his strength to live on even if he won't be able to work his magic anymore. I wish all the best for him and his family. I have a BAS made by Bura on the way that I got as a gift from Yangdu. A blade that I will truly cherish now when I know that he may not be making anymore. A truly special blade made by a great man and a great gift from a wonderful person that Aunt Yangdu is. Thank you again for everything and please pass my good wishes to Bura. If there is anything I can do for him, just say the word!

Sorry to read this. Prayers for Bura and his family. Hope his health improves so he can have some good retirement.

Smoke and prayers up for Bura. Hopefully he will be able to lead more young kamis on the path.

Prayers for Bura and family!

As for my special order, I am a patient man. I sure hope this trend turns around and that more skilled KAMIs join the HI team. Not so much about the special order as I want to see continued quality and fantastic products coming from such a fine company. Himalayan Imports is the only place that I trust to be returning to Nepal and keeping the traditional Kami alive and well. This is a part of the culture that would truly be tragic to loose.
