Here's my latest acquisition, a 'Bura Boomerang'. Got if off the 1/29 DOTD. The handle is sisau wood. Overall, it's a great knife. It was forged very well and has a sharp edge, which isn't always typical for HI blades with a high polish. Speaking of which, the polish is fantastic. The handle isn't the typical HI finish; it's more of a villager finish, which is fine by me. I don't have anything to strip off before sanding and oiling. :D The only thing I would have liked would have been another 1/2" on the handle. The girth is fine, but I'll have to choke up on the bolster a bit to keep the butcap from digging into my hand. I have high hopes that this will be a good chopper, but I won't get to prove that out until this weekend. We shall see. Hope you enjoy the pics; sorry that the blade color is a little goofy.

small forging flaw on its edge (happened maybe during the tea pot tempering)... no biggie ;)
got a big bad bura samsher to replace it :D

many thanks yangdu!!! :)

Seriously, the boomerang is one of the best newer designs. I have one and its aggressive curve and large comfy handle make it a great user.

Hmmm. I thought my handle was on the small (short) side. If you choke up on it, it feels fine.

The Boomerang is near the top of my HI "most wanted" list. I hope there are more to come.
