Bura Sahib's New Model???

Looking (and drooling) at the Special Run section of the HI website and noticed that very beautiful Bura's New Model. I wonder, does anyone have one of those? Also, are any batches of any of the special runs being done (question for Uncle Bill).

I love the curviness of the Bura Sahib's New Model and it is of a managable size (would LOVE to see it in a 12" or so). If not that, the Seax gets my attention as well (and from previous posts here, it looks like I am not the only one!!!).

SO wondering Uncle Bill, got one stashed beneath a dust bunny somewhere? And if not, perhaps someone can recount their tales about theirs...so we can live vicariously thru their stories (until we find out where you live that is...:D ).

P.S. Me have Villager AK 12". My smile is as wide as the curve on the Villager. Hehehe. But I wish to refine the Villager into an Emperor. Me thinks a little amateur woodchuckery is to be undertaken. Anyone know if Home Depot carries Tung Oil or Danish Oil?

I think Pen can tell you about the New Model in both 10" and 14" if you ask him...

Walmart probably carries the Tung oil.

Id like to get my hands on one of those as well. I also love the M43 Hybrid, Bolo, and Falcata... as well as the rest of them...

When I go to the HI site, I see "Special Items," not "special Runs," and no Bura New Model appears. ????????????????

I have the 14" New Model and it has become one of my most loved blades. Chops well for it's size and weight and is one of the more beautiful blade I think. Kind of like a more curved small Chit. If you ever get the chance pick one up.

I remember it now.

Can't say I rushed downtown to see it in the storefront window. The museum model is neat.
We all have different tastes and tastes change.

Meant the older version of the Sahib - as in a respectful term for those who are wiser and elder then the speaker (and also because he is a master of his craft) Sorry if offensive.

:D

I have Tung Oil...and from Home Depot. Now...we apply until it glows in dark...and then...we apply some more...must have precious at its shiniest!!!!

The Bura New Model is a great little blade. I only wish that I had bought a 14" as well as the 2 10"ers I got for my lady and me. They are a nice handy knife size with that sweet Khuk Kurve!;) The two in the bottom of this pick are our Bura New Models. A real sweet blade to be sure.

I see you like the multi-fullered models as well.

I'd like a 14" New model meself, looks dandy. Oh, and a Movie Model, M43, hanshee, reti, chainpuri, tarwar...

Oh, man, ANOTHER link to HI knives I didn't even know about? That Foxes Folly and the Falcata both look fantastic. One can always hope...

Regards,

Svashtar
