Bura Snake Knife
I recently added my first Bura to the ever growing collection. I have never heard of this knife before but its specs are impressive and not having a Bura Piece yet I had to jump on it. Glad I did! It is actually less that 1 oz. to the inch if ya can believe that and at 15. It is similar in ways to my 11.5 Sirupati (top in picture) but is 4 longer. Its spine is just under 5/16[SUP]th[/SUP] and Balance point is only 2 in front of the bolster. It is similar as well to the Ghopte Balance which ranges between 13" and about 18. The edge is a bit more obtuse than the Siru and more like the Ghopte Balance. The Snake Knife is open cho unlike the Balance. The smaller Balances are 1:1 length to weight ratio until they get 14 and over inches. Here is my reference source for comparison:

Bura Snake Knife Specs:
1 ¼ at widest point
15 OAL
Spine thickness is hair under 5/16ths
12.5 Oz.
Balance point 2 front of bolster
Top of pic is a 11.5 Sirupati and 15 Snake Knife below.
11.5 Siru Specs:
11.5 inch OAL
1 3/8 at widest point
Spine thickness is ¼
8 Oz.
Balance point 1 3/8 front of bolster
Just for reference purposes I saw a Rajkumar Siru at 17.5 inch weighs 21 ounces so somewhere in the 14 range is where the Siru goes beyond the 1:1 ratio. At 15 this snake knife is still 2 ½ Oz lighter than the 17.5 siru. Would a 17 snake knife be 17 Oz? Seems more like a Kumar Kobra then except with a slightly more obtuse edge.
What does all this mean? Heck if I know but it sure feels fast and just enough weight to penetrate! Top is 25 Sirupati, middle is 11.5 Sirupati and below is Bura 15 Snake Knife and its K&C.
Unlike the Kobra this one is open cho. Nice work Bura! Wish I could EDC this one! If anyone has ever heard of this knife or knows any history I would be interested to know more and greatly appreciate it! ENJOY!
