I posted this deep in another thread so let me put it here since its unrelated..

I like how Bura's cho usually overhangs a bit on the top part, not because of the overhang per se, but to me the way it comes together is really artistic, like the blade edge gently curves into the cho, IMHO more so than my other Kami works...

Bruise said I was crazy so I said if you look over a few past dates of UBBBs you can identify any Buras with just a look by what I'm trying to explain.

Then I said I still might be crazy... anyone else want to chime in on my sanity?

who was that master poet?? :D

I can often tell a Bura. They often have a distal taper and are only as thick as they need to be... My UBE is just a wonder. I really need to get a quick-draw sheath for it. :)

sometimes does/did that. Sanu was the best at getting crisp-lined, deep fullers. Kept the spine thick, yet the weight down. He really understood what he was doing and why.

Right Right guys!

Someone post a group of HI Khuks where you cant see the marks and I'll tell you the Buras it only works with open cho though....

Which ones are Bura's

You asked for the challenge, John! ;) :D

From left to right...

1. Bura
2. Amtrak
3. Kumar
4. Bura
5. Bura

and for the second set of photos (2 of them), from left to right...

1. (# 6) Non H.I. kami; I decided to throw you a curve ball here! :D
2. (# 7) Kumar

I'm sure there's something to your observations, John. If you had large detailed files of the cho's made by the various H.I. kamis, I'm sure you would do better.

P.S. All the photos, excepting the non H.I. cho were taken from Yandgu's sales of either 8/17, 8/18, 8/19, 8/20, and 8/23

Thanks for your enthusiasm, and sportsmanship; good to see you posting regularly... :)
