Just thought I would post a couple shots of my new Bura-made GRS and its tools. So far I have had every species of AK from 12" to 20," but right now am inclined toward this one as my favorite khuk. It is 17.5" long, and exactly between the 1.5lb and 1.75lb marks on my postal scale.

Also, this khuk came all sharpened up and required only a little fine tuning to pass the Pen Paper Slashing Test. This is a little bit like getting a pre-sharpened pencil - sharpness is only a temporary condition. If all khuks came this way I probably wouldn't have climbed on to the convex-grinding learning curve (am still on it), but sharp is still nice.

Here is a shot of the Karda & Chakmak. These are the best examples of each that I have seen so far, including the load of relics I got from Atlanta Cutlery. It does not appear that Bura needs anyone to show him how to make these tools. Both are well hardened and almost appear CNC machined.

I have one too and mine was the sharpest HI Khuk I have ever received. Accessory knive best also. Also the weight and balance of mine make it one of my favorite choppers. Unfortunately the edge wavers when I chop into something hard. How does the actual edge look on yours? Do you think it will hold up to heavy chopping? Mine also retains it's sharpness the best of any HI I have after heavy chopping, so I have never sent it back, just try to straighten out the edge best I can. I'd love to have one with the exact size, weight and hardness but with a slightly thicker edge.
