I was just wondering if Bura has ever been able to hammer on his own again or if he is still terrorizing his helpers with that task?

I can't say for sure, but I'd think it impossible for some of the product revealed the last year without it having been done mostly by himself. I have a post-stroke great Movie Model, a Cherokee Rose, and an Uncle Bill Especial- another great blade. It is not credible to assume apprentices did this. I think instead his quality has become less consistant.

Before Injury his blades were productions of consistant wonder. They are not any longer, but so much of the Art remains that it would be a silly mistake to dismiss him. And still, much of his work is there- beyond what even Kumar can do in line.

My opinion.

I was very fortunate to get a previously-owned pre-stroke Bura AK (waning moon mark only). The pwankh (AKA "Sword of Shiva") looks like it was cut with a machine and the fullers are SO deep.

(Anyone have other old Bura's that no longer "speak" to you? Adoptive homes are available. Free placement service. :) )

Does anyone have and pre stroke Bura's and Durba's that they can compare for us?

yeah,

I screwed up again. I went to Arkansas public schools. Forgive me.

*Three* (now 4) mentions of Durba...be very quiet...THE DUCK must be around here somewhere...

I have 2 or 3 pre-stroke Buras. I'll look at them tonight and compare with the others. I have only 1 Durba, a laser-like Chitlangi, really light, that came from our friend Walosi.

DURBA!!!
YOU NEW GUYS HAVE "NO IDEA"!!If ....& I mean"if" YOU SEE ONE FOR SALE,"TRY" & GET IT BEFORE I DO! bWAAAAAAAAAA!
THE DUCK!

I have had only one Durba (16" WWII), but have had 2 Bura's ( 15 and 18" pre-stroke). The Bura's had the least number of visible hammer marks, but the Durba has the best heat treat of all my HI's, and his bolster and handle work is top shelf on this one. I really like the work I have from the KNN, and I have a Kesar 12" AK that NO visible waves or hammer marks. Unfortunately it is ground WAY to thin to do chopping in hardwoods or bone ~ I know it would either roll or chip out. :(

LINT...... :D :D :D :D ,YOU'RE A ROOKIE,when it comes to DURBA'S(wish he would come back)! Some Kami's copied his flag sig. hoping to sell
HA!!I COULD TELL THE DIFF! AH,WELL "back to the cave"BEFORE i GET IN TBL....FOR PICKING ON wimper,I mean Semper!! :p....Hmmmm,may just lurk awhile!!
THE DUCK!

Darn, Duck, whenever you get to quacking too much your posts become unreadable. The Kamis traded signs around.

I don't own a Durba so will die in frustration and puny fear.

You, on the other hand, have no excuse for not STANDING your ground to that Teddy Bear with a Durba in each fist and a smile on your face. Don't go quacking at whimper- I mean Semper, just because you Dur- BAAAAAA 'd from the scene like another animal entirely.
