prepare yourself. It's bad.
I've been wanting to do a railroad spike 'hawk for awhile - nothing fancy, just something to try out. Not only did I achieve the "nothing fancy" aspect, I even took it a few notches down.
I had a long week, so I needed to pound out some aggression and this is what came out -- there isn't any finish work done, and maybe two seconds of grinder time. One thing I learned is that I think I need a drift punch. I used a sharpened railroad spike to go through mine.
The handle is built by Ace Hardware to my exact specs.
Needless to say, my respect for those of you making beautiful 'hawks has gone even higher.
