Burger LEXK (Large Exskelibur) vs. Boker EXK1. How is the Boker version?

I have been planning on purchasing an Exskelibur from Burger Knives out of South Africa for a few months now. I was just about to pull trigger, but then I saw that Mike Skellern (Burger's partner in the Exskelibur project) has designed the exact same knife for Boker! The LEXK (with the small customizations I want) from Burger is $330 shipped, the Boker Exskelibur is $60 shipped...

I was wondering if somebody has one of any of these (or both) and what is your impression. I especially would like to hear from somebody who has the Boker version and how nice the fit and finish is on it.

I have ordered one of the Bokers to see if I like it as much as Dagon (it has not shipped yet, however). If I do I might consider buying one of the more decorated models from Burger (which I believe is the EXK2). The design is very clean and Dagon certainly raves about it in his review.

Edit: A member here, Marthinus, has one of the Burgers and has posted about it, including several photos. Looks very nice IMO.

Great knife and well worth the money. Fit and finish is great especially for 60 bucks. Mine is the larger version. Shown next to my 45mm PO for size comparison.

Thanks for the picks strykersng, nice knife and nice watch too!

I am having a hard time justifying spending 550% the price of the Boker when the Boker is so nice. Is anything lacking in the Boker, I've heard the lockbar is gritty on the small Boker, how is yours strykersng?

Take a pencil and "write" on the lock bar and you'll be set.

I just ordered one, can't wait to get it, very nice looking knife, and a good alternative to getting the real deal.

I've never held the real deal from Burger, but they were always on my "if I win Lotto list". But if this thing didn't say Boker or any of the other markings, I might be fooled into thinking it was a custom, or at least a high-end production. I squirted a drop of Remington "Rem oil" in the pivot first thing like I do all my folders and walla, smooth. I suck at pics but there is a red liner off-setting the blue linerlock and against the black g10 it just looks cool. The linerlock clicks into place easy but there is zero play when it engages. I know 60 bucks is still alot of money but the thing blows away some of my other 60-100 dollar knives. Besides I really like 440, it's easy for me to re-sharpen. Hope I was some help, Smitty

I think Boker did a great job and if you would like to buy one to see if you like the design then why not? If you do then step it up and start with the damascus blades etc that Burger gives one. I just like to support our local knife makers these days. Here is the Burger:

I just ordered the lg Exk. Thanks for the heads up. I almost ordered the custom version but by they time they got back to me I ordered a Tarrani First Responder and a ARS by A. Shannara. keepem sharp

i just received my Boker Exskelibur 1, it was fantastic! for $50, it sure looks like $200 knife.

I would love to own the Burger Custom, but for now I picked up the large Boker. Got it a couple months ago and it spends a fair amount of time in my pocket. I like the opening mechanism and the blade shape and handle are very comfy to use. Nice materials and fit and finish is very nice for a Chinese made knife at this price point.

I've had my Boker Exskelibur 1 for almost two weeks and I was initially pleased as punch with the elegance of its design and the smoothness of the unique opening system. I love this knife!
However...when I first got the knife, the lock-up was perfect: liner-lock to the left of center of the blade. Since then it has been migrating across the blade and is now almost all the way to the right. There is definite wear between the titanium of the l-lock and the 440C of the blade. Probably this wasn't an issue with the n690 steel of the original Burger EXK1 . Perhaps the heat treatment of my particular blade is not up to specs. Who knows? Whatever.
Will try the graphite trick, but damage has been done. I still love this knife.
