I got their catalog in the mail yesterday, and am considering buying one. (Yes, I know they're illegal in many places, but not here - at least once I get out of the city). Before I spend the considerable amount of money involved, I'm curious whether any of you folks have one, and if so, what you think of it.

I don't have one, but I have yet to hear anything bad about them. :)

I have spent quite a bit of time with the Mk II featuring a cast nickel silver handle.

It is an extremely capable implement. What specifically would you like to know?

STeven, quality of the blade, fit and finish, durability of the locking mechanism, that sort of thing.

1. Quality of blade-Dagger grind, symmetrical, sharp-but not razor...so pointy you could go through soft tissue by thinking about it. Flexy to some small degree, but not at all whippy. Totally serviceable length, but still shorter than you might think based upon the measurements.

2. F/F is superb, no gaps, hand satin finish on most ss surfaces. The blade does rattle a bit in the cane shaft if you hit it at an angle...you are not fooling anyone, while the button is not obvious, it is apparent, if that makes sense.

3. The lock mechanism is tight, but if you try to hit a hard object with the head of the cane while grasping the cane shaft, you will mess up the fit, and possibly have the head/blade go flying out inadvertantly.
