Hi Mike,

It's neither horizontal nor a burke but have you seen this?
Bridgeport style mill in MA

Look like it might be a good deal for what you get but you do have to move it

Looks okay, Dan. Lots of Bridgeports out there for that price though, and if you can find a BP for the same price, why not? At least you know what you are getting. I will say that for a knifemaker's needs, there are two other verticle mills to be on the lookout for. For a few years, Clausing made verticle mills, and they are truly wonderful small mills. Also, if you can find one, the Mill-Rite, which was originally made by Burke Cincinatti. Both fine machines, and take up very little floor space. Other American manufacturers dabbled in vertical millers between 1940 and 1970, but they are pretty rare and no part support. At least with these two machines, abeit old, are still supported.

Higgy, For what it's worth,Clausing is still putting their name on everything from lathes(wonderful products) (CNC Machine tools , no experience with these) & the Bridgeport J-Head style mills. The Clausing name is proceded by ,in some cases ATLAS; & other cases KONDIA . They are shipping them out of Kalamazoo MI which is about 500 miles due south of me.Like Higgy said , very nice products !!
