anybody know anything about these knives? they look good in pictures and made out of good materials according to advertising.

Burke Knives is a company that makes production knives using the designs of custom maker Jim Burke. They currently produce a version of Rockstar model that is said to be true to the custom original in fit and finish. I own one and it's a heck of a knife rivaling some customs I own.

Jim Burke's knives may be tough, and well put together, but they are some of the ugliest designs I have ever seen.

His designs look great to me. The only thing I don't care for is the clip.

I just half heartedly traded my Burke...I have to try an SnG;)..and my small collection only has room for 1 larger folder...well maybe it's traded I gave the owner to be, a chance to look it over before he decides. Anyways I do really like the Burke...exceptional build quality, Lock up is superb with loads of room for wear. It also has to be one of the smoothest opening knife I have owned. I also like the fact that the blade and Ti scales are stone washed:thumbup: it doesn't take long for Bead blasted Ti to show scraps and scratches, while they just blend into the stone washed finish. Negative's, but not deal breakers, are the large clip, tip down carry and the wide aggressive blade. I often compare this knife to the Kershaw Ti Cyclone only with a better/ larger handle. A smaller tip up clip, with a narrower blade profile would make this a perfect sheeple friendly EDC for me. Again...none of these negatives are a deal breaker for me, as I do really like the knife, and should it return instead of the SnG, it'll be AOK.

I have a Burke production Rockstar and it is a great knife with the one exception that others have mentioned: the clip. It is huge and draws attention, not a problem always but can be. I have always thought about sending it to STR for a low ride clip and switching it for tip up carry.

Compared to a small Sebenza:

Comparisons to the Kershaw Mini-Cyclone Ti/ZDP are quite spot on.

Here you can see how big the clip is:

The action is very smooth and it has an interesting design that allows it to not have a stop pin:

Oh boy, I just HOPE you like the SnG, lol. After seeing the comparison pics on this thread, you'll probably have to make "do" with it...:D
