With Dr. Gyi's students staying in compliance with his wishes not to post about Bando on the internet ( at least I have been told that is the situation - I'm not being judgemental, just stating there's a paucity of info on the net about the burmese arts ) the first link is the very first page I found with info on the roots of that art.
The second link is to Phil's main site and includes references to lethawae ( Muay Thai with gloves off ), bando, thaing, naban, banshay, and the Kachin people.
The third link is included as it discusses the use of biting in fighting, which seems indicative of the seriousness with which their system is approached.
Well, I thought it was interesting.
