Some months ago Evan Napen sent me a forward with a bunch of house hold remedies for all kinds of stuff. One that looked pretty good was the suggestion to apply Colgate tooth paste to a burn.

I warmed up my thumb pretty good a few days ago, cooled it in cold water, then tried the Colgate under a home made bandage. Worked very well, pain went away and felt good for about six hours, no pain! When I took it off I knew there was still a burn but it healed well.

Thanks for the tip, Ed. My girlfriend loves to bake cookies and gets burned sometimes, so it will come in handy. Does it work with any toothpaste or just Colgate? :)

On sunburns I like Burnaway Plus. It's got aloe vera, tea tree oil, ginger, and vitamin E. Also works GREAT on bug bites!

The "tips" specified Colgate, that is what I used. Have no idea why Colgate, but took their word for it. And that is what I had on hand.

For those interested in science - I use a salve that contains aloe vera and vitamin E. Both substances have been proven to be very useful in treating burns. When I slipped and poured boiling water over my hand I used that salve and had absolutely no blisters , only a slight redness.

nice link...:D Thanks for the tip, Ed. Wife uses Colgate......I'll have to sneak into it....:D

C'mon, Ed. You mean you haven't seen the movie, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" yet? Everybody knows, all you have to do is spray a little Windex on it! :D

I'll have to give that a try Ed, thanks. Can't imagine why I might need it though. :D ;)
TRY using it on you teeth first. God know's how they need it. :footinmou :p :D

Glad to offer the suggeston. If any get the chance to use it, please let me know how it worked for you.
Take Care

I used it yesterday, Ed, and it works. Oh, and I only burned myself out of scientific curiosity.... clumsiness had nothing to do with it. :D - Jim
