I recently nabbed a delica off a Massdrop Blue Box (it was the most murdered out one I ended up with but oh well, still a delica.) and I saw on BladeHQ there was an orange frn laminated hap40 delica. Although it says it was a sprint run. Does anyone know if it’ll ever show up again? Or does anyone have one and like it?

HAP orange is long gone, it was a sprint like 3 years ago, there was also a wharn version but those are also long gone...check the exchange they sometimes pop up.

Be advised though that many were underwhelmed by the steel, it wasn’t run as hard as many kitchen knives are (65-68) and was good but not exceptional like many expected.

No its not. DLT just sold out in the last few months on the wharncliffe. There is a place that still has them.

Weird. I found my HAP40 Delica to be excellent and very easy to keep sharp.

Other folks here who're way more into sharpening than me got theirs hair whittling sharp with what they felt was not much work.

Very happy with my Lum Tanto in this steel too.

Still kind of sad I missed the REX45 P2 as I really like that knife and the steel was supposed to be very similar to HAP40.

You can still get one new, but its like $300

I missed the first round of Hap 40 Delicas and it really bummed me out so I was quick to get the Wharnclifffe Hap40. Its one of my favorite Spydercos and an absolute fantastic steel. I love the burnt orange too. Good luck with your search Abyss_fish but a heads up the Delicas have a tendency to be addictive, excellent EDC, many versions, and affordable. Congrats on your new future Delica collection

It sharpens easy and holds an edge better than VG10.

I have a CS Zome Endura and it’s very good, I have HEARD that some of the orange sprints (which came first) were run softer... many HAP kitchen knives are 65-67 even 68

I got the hap40/pakkawood and loved the steel so much I nabbed the orange 40 wharncliffe as well(or the other way around.) The only other knife I carry is a millie in m4.
