I recieved a Case peanut for my birthday Friday. When I opened up the box the first thing I noticed was the tip and more than half of the edge on the main blade were black. It was a chestnut CV. Is this reason enough to send it back?

You do not have much to lose to send it back & surely they will right the situation.
That knife can serve you for a long time,so might as well get a "good" one & they will make sure of it.
That detail was probably an oversight
Happy Birthday!
