Hi all! I finally got my first AD! What a beauty- 2007 Special Edition Black & green G10 and Double Cut finish. Now I have two questions- first, Are the old school ADs (Satin/SS) the same thickness (.170)?

-and two, there's a bit of brown on the very tip- does this mean it got burnt when the edge was being ground? I know Busse will take care of this if it's a problem, but is it a problem?

The brown tip is a reject. Must have slipped past quality control. All of the brown tipped INFI are to be sent to me.

1. i thought the custom shop ad's were .150. they were fairly thin.

2. wont be a problem. ive had a couple with the burnt tips.

Is the tip really burnt or is it grinding/polishing compound? Had a few that looked burnt, but wiped clean easily.

I have the same issue with one of my BIBB's
I was told it was a grinding/polishing compound like what G19G26 said..

Hit it with some Flitz. If it doesn't go away, contact the Shop.

Thanks guys. Some of it wiped off, then I got bored. I can always send it in if it chips out, but it sounds like I don't need to worry about it. I REALLY like this knife- always knew I had to have an AD!

I think I got a burnt tip once.

It was while I was in the Philippines in the early 1970’s.
