Burr King 760 on eBay

Interesting looking machine. Man that sucker is heavy

Looks like they're including the big metal table and the giant motor it comes with, too, which would explain the weight. This looks just like the grinder Laredo7mm uses in his shop, although I think his takes 48" belts if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, he has it set up so it's leaned back about 30 degrees or so, allowing grinding on the lower wheel for hollow grinding. If you've seen Sean's grinds you see it works well once you get the hang of it!

The say you can attach a platen to this one, too, althouhg it's unclear if it comes with one or not.

Couple of things on that one. If it is to factory specs, it runs at 8000 sfpm. A 960 with 8" contact wheel runs at 4400, and with a 10" at 5400.
60" belts are sometimes difficult to find in the variety that we are used to.

Yup, just like the one I have and both take a 60 inch belt. I swapped pullies around, resurfaced the contact wheel to 8 inch diameter (original has 7 inch diameter) and added a VFD. She runs from zero to 6000 SFPM with the VFD. I only use A/O belts and you can find those just about every where.

It is a smooth running machine. I have seen used Model 760's go as high as $700+ so right now she looks like a good deal. Except for the 3/4 horse motor, mine has a 2 horse motor.

I would ask the seller if they would remove the motor and the table to save on shipping, and then pick up a higher rated motor locally. Just a thought, could make a nice grinder for somebody.
