Just got a VFD in and got my burr king all hooked up and it works great but I can’t figure out how to rotate the belt. There were some 9/16 nuts on the inside connected to the motor that I loosened but I cannot get it to rotate for flat straight up and down grinding. Does anybody have any insights for me?

Never mind. I think I figured it out. I found the manual but can’t get home to try it out for a few hours. I’ll report back if all goes well.

The Burr Knigs use a face plate mount which allows just short of a 120° swing using 2 accesable bolts. If memory serves correctly, you can take the face plate bolts one at a time and reinsert them using the other two holes in the motor frame. If you take out both bokts at once, the only thing holding the swing arm on is the drive belt. If this doesn't work you might have to make a spacer ring to bolt to the motor and drill and tap holes where you need them. This will only work if the motor shaft is long enough.
Hope this.

Ok so you are right. I looked at it for about 30 mins before I made this post and I don't know how I missed that. Got that all sorted. I have one more question and instead of starting another thread I will just ask it here.

I have the VFD hooked up for 1X speed and my motor runs at 3450 RPM. I have seen some people have the jumper set to 2X but I assumed it is because they are running 1700 RPM motors. At 1X it doesn't seem like it is spinning fast enough at the high end. Perhaps it is, but this is my first five grinder and just wanted an opinion. Thanks.

Now knowing what VFD you have and not having the manual in front of me, I'm not sure what the 1x, 2x settings are supposed to do. If they set the output frequency, I would not go to 2x. Most motors will tolerate 10 to 15% overspeed without throwing problems. I would check with the motor manufacturer as to the frequency limitations of the motor.

Im going to stick with the 1x as it is suppose to for 60hz motor, which mine is. After fulling inspecting it I have found that I am going to have to replace the pulley belt as it is in very rough shape. Oh well haha.
