Burt made this one specially for me. A little longer handle of stabilized Mesquite burl, stainless single guard and spacer, with a copper spacer between. Blade is very thinly ground, forged 52100. Handrubbed satin finish on the flats and mirror finish on the spine and under the ricasso. Blade is 3.75" from guard to tip and the knife is 8.25" overall.

Okay, now that's TWO little hunters of yours that I gotta have and I'm not even INTO little hunters. I like everything I've seen of Burt's knives and this one is no exception.

This one kinda matches your camp knife of his, doesn't it?

Cheers,

Roger

Burt is making some really fine knives. Nice catch, Danbo.

I really need to give him a call about getting one of his forged hunters before his waiting list stretches to a year or more...

Yep that confirms it..emailing Mr Foster in the morning and gettin in line.
nice one!

I wanted to come in here and see a nice Foster knife but Dan's pictures of this one really suck :p

Burt is first rate all around, and you certainly will be happy with anything from him.

He's going for his MS this June, so make sure to look him up if you're there.

Good score Dan,
Nick

Hey, GQ Boy! Better lay off, or I'll be forced to post more pictures of that cruddy twist damascus/stag hunter YOU made! :) :D

Burt's hunters seem to have a particular look / "face". If I am seeing it right, his hunters in particular have stout looking blades, and the guards are stubby and broad. Those are probably not the best words to use, but what I mean to say is that his style is now getting to be recognisable and I think his knives (and website) are awesome !! Jason.

I handled that one (left plenty of fingerprints) this past weekend and it is nice. The sheath really completes the package but I guess D-Day was too lazy to get a pic of it too. :D

Now that is what is switching me onto these forged hunters. I love the overall shape of this piece, but the ricasso really catches my eye - it looks like a real extension of the curve of the handle, and the inner curve of the guard follows a very similar profile. Simple and elegant.

Thanks for posting.

Stephen
