I saw one of this gentleman's knives from a buddy at work recently, the Backpacker model. The fit and finish and build quality are amazing.

BF seems like a nice person as well. So I ordered one, the Bolo Bowie. This is my first true custom blade. I had semi custom stuff that was great, but this is going to be the first build from scratch that I've ever owned. I never though in my life I'd spend over $100 for a knife, but I guess I've graduated.

I'll post pix when in. Am I crazy to want to actually use this in the field to cut and chop things?

Do you guys use your customs?

cliff, that's an excellent choice! no, you aren't crazy! i'd rather say you would be stupid not to use burt's knives :). i am sure he would be very disappointed to know that one of his beauties sleeps in a safe. i own five of his knives and use four of them regularly (a bowie, two clip point hunters (one damascus) and a blue collar hunter (this one). all blades (52100, w2, 1095 and o1/15n20) perform brilliantly! a camp knife that i ordered should be here until christmas :) !
