I received this the other day but haven't had a chance to use it. I was gonna wait until I had some action photos and then post a review, but I am a man of limited patience.

Anyway, the blade is 10", ironwood scales w/red liners, clay hardened W-2, bolo style. Good grief is this thing sharp. I'll update again once I use it. Going out into the desert wastes this weekend; not much chance it'll see any action.

I am looking forward to seeing this knife get used and the subsequent report. IMO, I think you should take the knife out this weekend anyway. Desert or otherwise, with a little imagination, I am sure you can find some use for it.

Clay hardened W2, great handle design and scales, made by Burt...I would say she'll do just fine!

Look forward to some results.

WOW !
Both knife and sheath are looking fantastic.
That's a nice piece you've got.

I haven't been able to get out in the bushes to really use this blade, so I chopped in half an old oak beam/post thing that I've been chipping at for a couple of years. It is rock hard and of course wasn't any test for the blade, which floats effortlessly in the hand and maintained a razor sharp edge. Here's some pics of the spine and tapered tang. I chose red liners so it would match up nicely with an ironwood recurve bow I have that has red spacer laminations in it. I'll post more this weekend when I find some brush or trash trees that need clearing.

Did I mention I'm extremely happy with this blade? :D

Pure sweetness! Nothing better than "form meets function".

There's a huge "Survival Knife Concept" thread over at WS&S. I have not doubt this one will be outstanding when out in the wilds!

Very nice pics of your knife. I love that functional design and the execution of it. I have a similar knife on order from an up and coming maker.

Aaargh... the wait... just a few more weeks.

Please tell us more about how it performs.

/C.
