Just purchased one of his hunting knives yesterday. Was wondering if you guys had any experience with the his blade quality and esthetics? Very much looking forward to giving this a try.

Quality and aesthhetice are both firt rate. I have used one of his damascus hunter / utility knives extensively and it has proven to be damned near perfect.

To be honest, I do not think you are going to get too many (well, really, "any") folks posting critical remarks (or even arguably critical remarks) here about a knife maker's "blade quality and aesthetics" unless the maker himself specifically requested it. Doesn't really seem fair to the maker, IMO. So with these kinds of inquiries, I think you are pretty much always going to get only positive feedback or none at all.

That having been said, Burt is a well respected maker and a good guy. He has been making knives for a long time, and his laminated blades seem to be particularly popular. He has an e-mail list for knives that become available, which I am on, and I have noticed that they generally do not seem to last very long, for what that is worth.

Anyway . . . enjoy your new knife!

I have a few of Burt's knives. The one i use most is a 10 1/4" Santuko which i bought from Burt in 2010. It has chopped/sliced a great many garden veges and i have yet to re-sharpen it. I also bought a Talon from the first group of 5(?) that he made. The only minor issue here was a burr running the length of the edge on the right side. It should have been removed before shipping out. However this is not a 'defect' and easy to 'fix'.
Burt's artistry, quality of materials and workmanship are all world class.

His quality is superb, and his aesthetics are a matter of taste. I have three of his knives, and think they all look amazing.

There are some available on the aftermarket, or look at Burt's most excellent website and post some examples from there..... you could look at those and see what you like and what you don't, and come back and point to the specifics and ask about those....might learn a bit that way.

Fit my hand better then any other knife.. PERIOD. Blade shape was Perfect and as sharp as Hansons. BTW the picture doesnt show what the handle looks like at all. Its much more shaped then it looks.

Love Burt's knives and have found them to be first rate. I also wear his belt practically daily and it is awesome too!

Found the pic of my Damascus utility.

And this big Persian fighter remains one of the faves in my collection:

And the Damascus pattern in this fighter is even more stunning in real life:

Burt sends out a newsletter about once a month, or less. They have a link to just made available knives. They sell out within hours and the most striking looking ones in minutes. This extreme 'popularity' is proof of Burt's knives being of exceptionally high quality.
I suggest O.P. get on Burt's mailing list. Even if you do not buy, the knives pictured are well worth looking at.
