Well I stopped by and picked up my Burt Foster Camp Knife and Blue Colloar Hunter. Here are a few pictures of Burt's Shop, knives in process, the two I picked up, and of course the man himself. Hope you enjoy! Burt is a super nice guy and I had the privlege to talk with him for a couple of hours. Watched him normalize and temper a few blue collar hunters and talked some about the business and his knives.

Burt doesn't look overly thrilled in that photo.

Nice knives you got there.

I always love to get a look at makers' shops. Most that I have seen are not what you would call neat. From what I can see, Burt's looks pretty clean.

I have dealed with Burt and he is truly a great guy.
His knife is AMAZING.

Thanks for the pictures, love to see them. :)

Congrats on those beauty's! Looks like you have all your outdoors bases covered with those.

Burt has the BEST looking sheephorn I have ever seen.
(I never thought I would say that)

I can't be certain, of course, but I think that Lombardo praising sheep horn just might be one of the signs of the apoclypse. :D

A matched blue collar set is a terrific idea. who says you can't have it all - good looks, high performance and gret value in a hard-working knife. Most excellent.

One of those blades is mine mine mine all mine! Getting a blue collar hunter with sheephorn scales too- and a hole in the handle as a lanyard attachment point.

It's a stunning knife for a ridiculous price (yes, the sheephorn adds to the price- but not much more). Those pic's have me chomping at the bit.

Right now, Burt is working out of his garage. He is clearing an area on his property for a shop. I believe he said 1200 square foot building. This was my first opportunity to actually see some of equipment and portion of the work a bladesmith does. I'm in the que for a more top end Bowie from Burt. Just have to make up my mind what type, materials, and design. I had thought about taking Burt some pictures of knives I liked. Then I thought, no, we will just have to work that out. Don't want Burt duplicating another makers knives. I want a Burt Foster with my thoughts and his interpretation of them in the design.

I wanted user knives and its the main reason I purchased both the above knives.

Again, I've heard the expression "light and lively" in the hand describing some of these larger knives. Never really understood that until handling some of Burt's Knives!

Not thrilled in the photo is an understatement. I hate having my picture taken. I'm not worried about my soul, it's just that i'm just not as cute as Nick Wheeler.

At the moment my shop is a disaster. As Kimbercomp noted, I'm doing my best to have a real shop built this year, and all my energy and $ is dedicated to that shop, not the current one. If something breaks or falls on the ground, I just leave it unless it's absolutely necessary. An entire set of cabinets fell off the back wall last week (put up by the previous owner) and I threw away the cabinets, and pushed all the comtents into the corner where it will sit until a proper home is ready....

My pictures don't do the knives any justice! Much nicer in person!

PICTURE----I just thought there may be a few other new customer buyers who might have had the same impression I did to start. I first thought Burt to be a few years older than he is and just tiny man. ;) I'm 5'10" and believe my head is about shoulder high on him:D
