4th of July pass would be an easy place to come up with clues for.

he's probably up talking to a burning bush about how the things supposed to lock up. he will probably come down in a few years all grey with a beard down to his navel and bring forth a great folder.

skunk, off course they will be legal, this is Amerika. Then again, you will have to obtain a permit ($500) which will include a background check, many forms, a long wait, a required safety class ($250), a sensitivitiy class including PC knife usage ($300) and a probationary carry period. The applicant will also be required to obtain a psychological screening at the applicant's expense. Successsful applicants will have to post a $10,000 cash bond and maintain proof of liability insurance in an amount not less than 2 million dollars. Each knife purchased will be taxed with "impact fees" to support hospital emergency rooms, stress counselling clinics, various additional programs presently being considered by a pink ribbon commission headed by Charles Schumer and Diane Feinstein. Impact fees will be added to the point of purchase for each knife. These fees, initially (until the Schumer/Feinstein programs activate) shall not exceed $275 per knife.

Folders will have a maximum blade length of one inch unless you are law enforcement or military. Pre ban knives will be illegal to own unless the blades are deactivated by grinding down the edge to be not less than 75% of the thickness of the spine or .125", whichever is greater and points must be removed to an aspect ratio of 75% as well.

New knives must meet yet to be determined "smart knife" technology which will include, but need not necessarily be limited to:
permitted owner ID which prevents anyone other than the permitted owner from operating the knife; an audible alarm to warn others nearby that the knife is about to be opened. Said audible alarm shall meet criteria which shall be determined by the newly created National Knife Safety Administration and will sound for five sevonds before the knife is capable of being opened. Unique encoded (to knife's serial number) GPS locator/tracker and a counter to determine how many times the knife has been opened. Once a pre-set number of opening has occurred the knife will lock and the GPS/tracker will alarm. The knife must be "re-activated" by a government approved facility in order to be operable again. There will be a fee for re-activation, turn around time is estimated to be 3-6 months.

You must have the permit in yoiu possession while you have the knife in your possession. The permit is approximately 8.5 X 11 inches and may not be folded or rolled in any fashion. It must be prominently displayed on the outer clothing. The permit is government approved fourescent pink.

Geez Nimmy, I'd only heard about all those requirements. Never saw it all in one place....:D
