I've really taken to my Bush Hermit as my go-to knife now. Before I take it out in the woods to survive, I felt like it was time to see what Andy's design really can handle. The edge surprising held up well but as you can see in the last pic the tip broke off, so I guess @RobbieB may now see a BH Jr. Bananas are a real test for these knives because if they can handle them they can handle about anything. If you have a weak stomach for knife abuse, I suggest that you turn away now.
the test items.

first cut thru the hard outer wall was a bitch, had to beat the spine with a hammer.

cross batoning was very tough, but got through it with the help of a Louisville Slugger bat.

tip failure while trying to make banana feather sticks.

all in all the Bush Hermit held up well to such a harsh test. I highly recommend this model for heavy or all around use as it might just be the best model that Fiddleback has ever designed. However just stay away from those damn bananas.
