Hi all,

We recently moved to some acreage. Awesome spot. There were a whole heap of palm trees up aganist the house that need 'trimming', messy buggers, so instead of using a chainsaw or axe, I thought I give the MOAB a crack at it. Let me just say this - the axe will probably never get used again. Enjoy...

Nice one Rob, good to see the MOAB being used
congrats on the new place.

That knife looks 10 feet tall in those pics! Enjoy your new property.

that really is a mother of a blade...
Nice user pics as usual Rob  Cheers!

Always good to see a Busse in use. Even better when it's a beast of a knife like your MOAB

Put a freakin' D-guard or at least a lanyard loop on that beast, before you lop off a toe or something, willya?:eek::eek:
:):):)

Mine tires me out after a couple of trees or so.

Australian wilderness, pretty cool :D

How many chops does it take to get through on of those palm trees?

Good golly that's a biggun. You could chop a saltie in two with that. Nice pics!

Looks like you were having fun, Rob!

I took the B11 to some aggressive willows last night. Bend it, one swing, add it to the pile. :D
I was too lazy to get the MOAB from the safe, and that would have been overkill anyway.

I didn't count, but it wasn't many. Probably 20 or so. I made big wedge cut on the fall side and a small wedge cut on the back and just gave the tree a little push. Down she goes!

That cut on the left looks as if the knife bit through half the trunk with one swing.
Either that, or you have amazing precision and accuracy with your swings :D

Yes, the knife bit very deep. I full blooded swing pretty much had the whole blade width enter the tree. Palms are very fibrous things, not too difficult to chop.
